Welcome to the American Judges Association website. My name is Judge Vincent L. Johnson, Common Pleas Court Judge of Philadelphia, Pa., and I am pleased to be the current President of AJA for the 2024-2025 year.
I am excited that you are visiting our website. If you are a regular member, it will be no surprise to you the vast information that this website holds. If you are a new member or just checking out our site, please take your time and explore all the wonderful things AJA provides to its members.
As you may know, AJA is one of the largest and most diverse judges’ associations in North America with members in the United States and its territories, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Canada. In addition, it maintains a special relationship with the judges of the Philippines.
Membership in the American Judges Association offers exceptional educational conferences, access to judicial resources, opportunities for training in specialized areas of interest, and international judicial engagement. AJA’s committees work diligently to address developments in substantive areas of the law including domestic violence, access to justice, juvenile and criminal justice, civil proceedings, and use of AI and technology in the law. Further, AJA committees keep its members informed on topics of judicial security, wellness, diversity, and ethics.
AJA membership also includes receiving the quarterly publication known as Court Review, which contains articles addressing current jurisprudence, information relating to science and social science, and other information of interest to judges. AJA is affiliated with, among others, the National Center for States Courts, The National Association of State Judicial Educators, the Conference of Chief Justices, the Conference of State Court Administrators, the National Association for Court Management, and the National Judicial College.
If you are not a member, I hope our website will entice you to become a member of this exceptional and exciting organization.
